PETER SAISPAIR Per Persson (b. 1791) was Peter Saispair's birth father and he was married to Brita Jonsdotter (b. 1786). They had no children of their own so Per went to visit the widow down the lane who already had a couple of children and she bore a child for him and Per and Brita adopted the child as their own in 1830. This part of Peter's history did not come to this country with him. -From Linda Ashley, Omaha, NE (1991)

Peter Saispair spend some time in Scotland learning the English language prior to coming to the USA. His wife Mary was pregnant with Caroline when they came to America. It was a rough crossing on the old sailing ship and for Mary it was very tortuous. In later years when Peter made a trip back to Sweden he wanted Mary to go with him - she said NO WAY - so he went alone. -From Richard Bowman, Alliance, NE

The many friends of Mr. Saispair of Swaburg will be sorry to learn of his intentions to leave this country and return to Sweden. He advertises his farm and personal property for sale and will leave as soon as he can sell. PETER was a preacher.
PETER drowned in a buggy accident/possible homicide in 1894.
