William R. Rowe joined Equitable Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1920 and became president in July 1939 and chairman of the board in 1963. He served on the Fremont, NE Board of Public Works for 21 years, 28 of which he served as chairman. He was a member of the American Legion, past Nebraska adjutant of Veterans of Foreign Wars, past VP of Fremont Chamber of Commerce, past president of Nebraska League of Savings and Loan Associations, member of the U.S. Savings and Loan board of Directors, member of Fremont Golf Club, the Brotherhood of the Paternal Order of Elks Lodge and a member of First United Methodist Church. Will Rowe died at Arbor Manor Nursing Home, Fremont and his ashes were placed in the St. James Episcopal Church Columbarium, Fremont.
