Memorial Services for Ray Rowe, age 80, of O'Neill will be 10:00 A.M., Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill with inurnment at a later date. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 P.M., Sunday at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill, with a 7:30 P.M., Rosary. He passed away Wednesday evening at his daughters home in O'Neill. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Research. He is survived by his wife, Bette of O'Neill, 6 children, Pam Rowe of Lincoln, Randy Rowe and his wife, Karen of Lincoln, Paula Peterson and husband, Bill of O'Neill, Russ Rowe of Conyers, Georgia, Jeanne Cope and her husband, Ed of Lincoln, Nate Rowe of Athens, Georgia, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Robert Rowe of Bartlesville,. OK., and Ron Rowe and his wife, Connie of Fremont.1 sister, Phyllis Monke and her husband, Bob of Fremont. Ray was born March 5, 1928 at Fremont, Nebraska to Arthur and Josephine (Johnson) Rowe. He grew up in the Fremont area attending school and graduating from the Fremont High School. He went on to college earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. Ray entered the United States Army on June 7, 1946 playing in the Army Band. He received his honorable discharge on April 9, 1948. Ray married Bette Rankin on November 5, 1949 in Fremont, Nebraska. To this union 6 children were born. They made their home in the O'Neill area where he was a Marketing Representative for Phillips 66. Ray retired after 35 years of service to the company. Ray loved his music and belonged to the Jaycee's Band, the Community Band and different Dance Bands. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Ray was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, the Knights of Columbus Council 701, the Golden Age Center, Musicians Union, and the Snow Busters. He was a Charter member of the O'Neill Eagles. Rev.Jeff Lorig will officiate. Holt County Independent, O'Neill, Ne. |

If you have come to my website via Ancestry: Several years ago the genealogy giant Ancestry absorbed the genealogy websites of Rootsweb along with personal databases posted at Rootsweb's WorldConnect Project that included a large database of my own family information. I started using Rootsweb in 2000 and they gave us the capability to add, remove, and update our information at anytime and I used these options frequently to post correct and current data. Presently (2006) I am told by Ancestry that we cannot maintain our own databases, we cannot even remove them. If you find information at Ancestry with my name attached please search my website for current information, the databases posted at Ancestry contain inaccurate information. - Karen Rowe. |
