Wilhelm Sieckmann immigrated to the US 12 MAY 1870 (Rolfshagen Nr. 65, a miner with his wife and 3 sons/1 daughter -- The Schaumburger Auswanderer: Kreisbl. V. 24 Mar 1870. Wilhelm homesteaded the NW 1/4 of Section 8 in Franklin Township, Fillmore Co., NE. (Now Ohiowa, NE). The family lived in a dugout in the SE corner of this section later built a house on the NW corner.

Wilhelm Sieckmann was Naturalized in Fillmore Co., NE 14 JUN 1876. His family homesteaded the NW 1/4 of Section 8 in Franklin Township. The family first lived in a dugout. Later they built a house in the NW corner of that quarter, where the buildings still stand. He also purchased 120 acres in Section 5. This farm is now? owned by Clara Williamson and has been in her family since 1882.

OBITUARY: Henry Sieckmann was born in Germany, January 7, 1861, and died at his farm home near Ohiowa, January 11, 1911, age 50 years, 4 days. He came to Illinois, USA at the age of ten and a year later came to Nebraska. January 19, 1882 he was married to Sophia Gewecke, to which union two children were born. The wife died in June 1885. April 8, 1886 he was again married, his second wife being Sophia Rippe. Two children were born to this union. The wife died within the last year. Three children survive him. The funeral services were held in the South German church and interment made in the St. Johns Cemetery.

OBITUARY FRED SIECKMANN NEBRASKA SIGNAL MAY 1965
Fred Sieckman was born 29 SEP 1869 to Wilhelm and Wilhelmina Buthe, six months old when came to America. Married 30 APR 1899 to Alvina Mussman, 8 children. Wife died in 1960. Preceded in death by infant son, 3 brothers, 1 sister. Fred, Ohiowa; Charles, Wayne, NE; Edward, Hastings; Grace, Ohiowa; Howard, Pirie, ID; Jess, Grand Island; Dallas, Sidney; 6 daught-in-law, 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; sister Sophie Hennesey, Mollie McGraw. Buried Ohiowa Cemetery.

According to Ohiowa 1887-1987 Fred came to America in 1870 with his parents They homesteaded a farm NW of Ohiowa. They lived in a dugout in the SE part of the claim. Later they built a frame house in the NW part. Friedrich and Alvina farmed and raised a family of 8 children in Fillmore County, NE. In 1936 they retired from farming. Besides farming Friedrich worked in a filling station and was the county assessor for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohiowa, NE by Rev. Robert Hoeft. The pallbearers were: Herman Rippe, Harry Rippe, Willard Sieckmann, Harry Sieckmann, George and Dayle Sieckmann. Mrs. Clarence Most and Mrs. Cyrus Mussman were in charge of the flowers.

Because of his birthday, Fred Sieckmann, Sr. was the honor guest of a surprise party Sunday evening at his home. A pleasant social evening was spent, after which refreshments were served. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Sieckmann and sons; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mussmann, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Will Mussman and family of Tobias, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mussman, Jr. and sons; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sieckmann, Jr. and son, Leslie, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Matthies, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Will Bahe, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sieckmann, William Most and daughters Adeline and Gertrude, Miss Mildred Thomas, Mr. Ivan Matthies and Mr. and Mrs. John Most and son Clarence.
