Sophia Louisa Katze was first married to Mr. Seehausen who died 1849-1850? They had a daughter Sophia Seehausen (1849-1935) who was married to John Koelling, son of Conrad Koelling and Charlotta Meyer.

OBITUARY - 13 MAY 1904 Mr. John Henry Russel
Hans Heinrich Russel was born April 11, 1824 in Hohnhorst Kur Hessen, Germany, arrived in America in 1849, $55 in debt for his passage. He worked for farmers in Schaumburg and this vicinity, and by industry and frugality soon made a start in this new country. In 1850 he married Miss Engel Maria Schilling of Schaumburg who died March 29, 1853, leaving an infant son, Henry Russel, who still survives. In November 1858 Mr. Russel married Mrs. Louisa Katz, of Elk Grove who died Nov. 10, 1891, leaving a second son, John Russel, with whom the father has since made his home where he died after a lingering sickness at 4:30 pm Saturday, May 7, 1904 aged 80 years 26 days. The funeral which was largely attended took place Tuesday afternoon from his late home to St. Peters Church: burial at Lutheran cemetery. Besides the two sons, Henry and John, he leaves a stepdaughter Mrs. John Koelling, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Henry Russel was one of our substantial German citizens an early settler, who by industry and honesty rose to affluence and influence highly esteemed by all who knew him. He lived over fifty years on his old homestead in South Wheeling, held several offices of honor and trust and saw this country develop from a wild prairie to high civilization. He was a pleasant gentleman. Al his relatives, friends and neighbors will long revere the .... of a highly respected citizen.
