OBITUARY
Walter Henry Buchmeier of the Gladstone vicinity, well-know cattleman died at Fairbury, NE, Dec. 1, 1964 at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 25 days. The son of Henry and Emma Schroeder Buchmeier, he was born Dec. 5, 1901 at Ohiowa, NE. During his early childhood he with his family resided at Ohiowa, Hubbell and in the Thompson vicinity. On Aug 21., 1923, he was married to Emma Renzelman at Washington, KS, and to them three children were born. The family lived in the Thompson vicinity until three years ago when they moved to a farm in the Gladstone area. Mr. Buchmeier was known far beyond his local community for his knowledge and success in raising Hereford cattle. Survivors include his wife, Emma; son, Darrel of Gladstone; two daughters, Donna, Mrs. Joe Cook of Fairbury; and Delores, Mrs. Jim Lowe of Lincoln; two brothers, William C. Buchmeier of Powell and Louie Buchmeier of Kansas City; four sisters, Mrs. Atline McFarland of Fairbury, Mrs. Irene Shane of Lusk, WY; Mrs. Marguerite Bower of Fairbury and Mrs. Lila Bear of Fairbury and 11 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Lloyd, sister Gertie and granddaughter, Diane Buchmeier. Funeral services were Friday afternoon in the First Methodist church with the pastor Rev. Donald Littrell officiating. Mrs. Lloyd Scarrow and Mrs. Walter Siemsen sang and Mrs. Frank Hall was organist. Active pallbearers were Willard Gumaer, Floyd Lichty, Lawrence Hanson, Ernest Siebenneicher, John Siebenneicher and Oren Boley. Burial was in the Fairbury Cemetery.

Walter's godfathers were Willy Sieckman, Herman Schroeder.
