OBITUARY: THE COVINGTON RECORD, COVINGTON, OK MARCH 7, 1948
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Matilda Schweer at the St. Johns Lutheran Church northeast of Covington with Rev. R.O. Barlag pastor in charge. Burial was in St. Johns cemetery. Mrs. Schweer died Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.C. Faubion, Covington. Mrs. Schweer came to Oklahoma from Nebraska in 1908 and settled on a farm northeast of town.

Survivors include three sons, T.C. Schweer, H.F. Schweer, and E.W. Schweer, all of Covington; five daughters, Mrs. Amanda Shoemaker, Mrs. Faubion, and mrs. Carl Boepple, all of Covington, Mrs. Paul Stettnisch of Oklahoma City and Mrs. H.S. McNew of Flint, MI; two brothers, Henry Buchmeier of Thompson,, NE and R.H. Buchmeier of Geneva, NE; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Bahe of Geneva, NE, and Mrs. F.W. Thomas of Nampa, ID. Matilde is buried at St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery, Covington, OK.
