The Barsinghausen Television Transmitter at the Deister is located between the villages of Messenkamp (Flecken Lauenau - Landkreis Schaumburg) and Nienstedt (Bad Munder, Landkreis Hameln - Pyrmont).

Nienstedt (Bad Munder, Landkreis Hameln - Pyrmont) is a different village than Nienstaedt which is near Stadthagen, Landkreis Schaumburg. The villages of Haste, Hohnhorst and also Nienstaedt by Stadthagen are in the flat country which is called "Norddeutsche Tiefebene".

When you are looking from the village of Haste to the south, the "Weserbergland" hills begin at Bad Nenndorf. Then south of Bad Nenndorf are Rodenberg, Apelern, Lauenau, Feggendorf, Messenkamp and Nienstedt.
